Bipolar scissors is an insulated dual-action scissors consists of stainless steel electrodes bonded opposite to the ceramic cutting surfaces of the two blades. Bipolar scissors is used simultaneous for cutting and coagulation. You can do cutting/ coagulation without changing instruments. Bipolar scissors offers the surgeon to cut significantly with less thermal injury. When coupled to a constant voltage of bipolar electrosurgical generator. The electrical current runs between both scissor blades in a limited tissue area. The use of bipolar scissors offers more safety for the patient.
